One of the little quibbles that I have about the whole marriage thing is that people tend to focus so much on whether gay people should be allowed to marry and I see so many gay people wanting to change the law to, instead of a man and a woman, one person and another . . . What about polygamists? They’re being discriminated against just as much as gay people are by our theoretical constitutional republic which we all know is a Christian theocracy. Anyway . . . I think the whole idea of state/federal sponsored marriage is ABSOLUTELY STUPID and should be a matter between the people wanting to marry and their church (the latter being optional). Why the fuck is our government telling us who we are and aren’t allowed to marry in the first place? So the fedex tracker says my macbook arrived in Phoenix yesterday, which means it should be brought to me today!!! Yayyy!!!! I’M SO EXCITED!!!! I’m so wanting to buy an iphone too . . . but I’m a bit let down by it. Not by its user interface or how integrated it is or any of that, but because Apple decided to go with att’s edge network for wireless internet . . . which is FUCKING SLOWWWWWW. We’re talkin 56k slow. There was a reason Steve Jobs was using a wifi connection when he demonstrated the iphones capabilities. My current phone does 300-400kbps with jumps up to 1mbps. The edge network only does 100kbps if you’re lucky. . . which means if I bought an iphone, I wouldn’t be able to connect it to my slingbox and watch my tivo on my iphone because it’d just be so damned slow. Many people have asked me what the effect is of this idea I thought up. Well it’s pretty simple. . . I cause objects to melt/burn/heat up by concentrating on them. At least when it comes to technology. We’re starting to see it happen in its infancy, but I’ve predicted this shit ever since I saw star trek and the idea popped in my head. The first thing that there’s definitely going to be a lot more of is surface computing. Apple’s iphone and Microsoft’s Surface are good examples of this.

So what do I think is going to happen next that really hasn’t been tapped much? Or rather, what I hope will happen next . . .  A surface computer whose only real device is the display and a wifi connection to your home network. Basically a device that’s really just a wireless monitor for your home computer.
