Prison System

by Jacob Spinney on October 28, 2007 · View Comments

I have an idea that I just thought up a few days ago that I think could possibly work for the horrible prison system we have right now. First off, immediately release all drug users and sellers and legalize all drugs. If this country has a motto for personal liberties, then it should be “You own your body. So you have the right to do whatever you want to it. You just don’t have the right to do anything to others without their consent.”

That would immediately free up the overcrowding. But the idea I recently thought up . . . for all of the people with life sentances, and I’m talking about murderers and people with 34 rape convictions and so on, why not throw them on a big ass farm with acres and acres of land, that would ofcourse be cordoned off, and then force them to become… Read More

Phenomenon

by Jacob Spinney on October 26, 2007 · View Comments

So I just saw the new Phenomenon show on NBC yesterday, and personal opinions of Criss and Geller aside, the show was crap. I totally felt blue-balled. They promoted the shit out of this show as people with amazing abilities that you’ve never seen before, but I’ve seen all this shit before! Banachek has been doing the psychokinetic touches routine for decades. And I totally didn’t get what the dude with the bear trap was trying to show. He shows a trap, sticks a pencil in it to show the pencil explode, then he sticks his hand in it and his hand’s fine. Doesn’t that just show that it’s a trick trap? I didn’t get it. I actually liked the guy who did the russian roulette with nail guns, but that’s hardly anything truly original like NBC promoted it as. And Gerry doing Banachek’s phonebook test seemed anti-climatic. Would have… Read More

Slave Reparations

by Jacob Spinney on October 26, 2007 · View Comments

Here’s an issue I bet no one would have thought I held. Being the ultra (true) conservative that I am, I am actually FOR slave reparations. I don’t see why anyone would be against slave reparations. It’s plain and simple when you really think about it.

Replace the United States with an individual and then you’ll see exactly how I see it. Let’s say that some guy beat to death your dad. Besides him going to jail for the rest of his life, is it not also just for the family members of the victim to seek restitution in a civil court from the man who wronged their family member? Think about OJ. Sure he got off, but the family members of the people that he killed took him to court in a civil suit and WON! Isn’t that a good thing?!?

Now just replace the criminal who did this… Read More

Fearful Thoughts

by Jacob Spinney on October 20, 2007 · View Comments

So for a long time now I’ve been very much against the war. Our government was never intended to be in the business of nation building. If we want to spread democracy, we have to do it by making examples and hoping that others will follow. You can never spread democracy through force. The only thing that force will do is make some kid hate you because they think you’re responsible for the death of one of their family members and so they decide to hijack an airplane and fly it into the world trade center. I firmly believe that the mass majority of midde-east resentment of the United States isn’t because we’re a free and prosperous nation, but because we are occupying their holy land and making alliances with their sworn enemies. The founders strongly strongly advised never to make alliances. Trade with everyone, but make alliances with no… Read More

Spoiler Alert!

by Jacob Spinney on October 14, 2007 · View Comments

So I’ve worked out a way of psychologically forcing pretty much anything and everything. The sky’s the limit. During my whole act, I plan on having a giant foamcore picture covered up on an easel to the side of the stage. And at the right time, I would bring up some random person and then ask them to make a wacky mental picture in their head, and boom, pull off the cover and that’s the picture that I had on the easel the entire time. My question is . . . what do you think would be a really funny wacky thing to psychologically force, bearing in mind that it could really be anything . . . ? The framework would have to be something like “X is doing activity Y at place Z.” You know . . . something like “Batman eating a hot dog while standing on one… Read More
